Image rotation in GIMP

Hi, I'm trying to rotate an image so it's straight, its a little crooked at the moment. I'm using GIMP 2.0 but when I use the rotation tool the background is deleted. How can I rotate it without deleting the background? :confused:

Yeah I was using that, but once I press "Rotate" I'm losing the image and I'm just left with a transparent background.

That's odd? Are you sure you don't have any other setting being adjusted. That shouldn't happen. Weird.

I don't really use gimp all that much, i'm a photoshop guy, so I don't know why that's happening to you in gimp. It shouldn't though.
