It's an Irish registered car, why are you worrying about VRT? Are you thinking of importing a similar car from the UK?

The CO2 emissions were confusing me.. I didnt think it was 28% VRT. 189 CO2, new cars on carzone seems to suggest CO2 is 149?? Audi website also seems to suggest car is CO2 band C which would imply that VRT would be calculated at 20%?

Yes a friend of mine was. I bought a BMW and have made serious savings, and I told him Id check out the Audi. It seems youd make no savings on that car. Hence I think it is very well priced. Prob 50k new and they are selling a few of them in Grange at 34/35k.......

You could be onto something here. According to parkers.co.uk the Co2 for the automatic is:

    2.0 TDI 4d Multitronic 48 mpg 151 g/km

    2.0 TDI SE 4d Multitronic 42 mpg 178 g/km E (road tax | company car tax )

This is what it says for the Multitronic SE model

    There's a big difference between pre & post-facelift A6s in terms of emissions - band C (151g/KM) versus band E (178g/KM).

I'd say any emissions figures you're getting off official websites are incorrect. 28% VRT would be right on that car.

Does it? I am reading it thats its 153 CO2 for multitronic 4D 2.0TDI, 170 Hp which is like the one in the link of original posting??

In saying that, any of the AUDIs I checked online in UK were all 136 HP? Didnt specs in UK or IReland??

Also on Audi Ireland website, the emissions for 170Hp 2.0tdi mutli is 153 gCO2. Question is are they less on a new one than a 2008 model??

Can you even buy a 2.0 TDI Multitronic 170HP A6 in uk?? Let alone calculate VRT!

    Pre-facelift will be 140BHP.
    Post-facelift is available in 136 or 170BHP.

That's how to tell them apart.

Emissions are lower on MY09 (facelift) model due to newer/cleaner engines.

For the 2008 car in my original posting Chris, what do u believe the road tax would be. Do u think its band e or c??

New one has leather, Bluetooth, voice control etc as standard.50+MPG and €156 a year to tax, so the older ones are going to take a bigger hit.

Ok, thanks for that. Leather as standard, that must be a first for Audi! So basically older cars are 600 euro plus to tax and the new ones are 156 euro?

Old model is 630 and new is 156 (manual) or 302 (auto)
