Does anyone remember this programme based in Liverpool in the 80's? I used to love it but haven't seen it in years. Is it ever repeated on TV now?

I remember it well! It used to be on BBC 1 on Sunday evenings. how could you forget Joey, Jack, Avaline, Adrian and poor ol Billy who was continually complaining about how he was getting a divorce and of course good ol ma boswell and grandad next door awaiting his breakfast, dinner and tea!! i remember they changed Joey's, Avaline's and Julie's character during the series. then there was Freddie Boswell living with his fancy woman Lilo Lil with the pink fur coat. God i was only a child when i watched it but definately it was one of my favourites.
Is it ever repeated on TV now?

i remember they repeated it on UK Gold about 2 years ago but they never went to the complete end of the series - they always seemed to stop at the episode where Avaline marries the vicar and then went back to the beginning.

It was on a digital channel only last week, think it was G.O.L.D. Maybe it was Paramount 2, as that often has The Liverbirds on which is also based in Liverpool and quite funny.

Carla Lane wrote Bread - she even coaxed her two best friends to play themselves in one episode her best friends were Paul and Linda McCartney.

The eldest son (I think Joey) found fame later again - I believe (I could be wrong about this) but he directed or produced Sliding Doors.

Anyone remember Carla Lane's other series? It was older than Bread and not as good but Sky used to repeat it occasionally, it was called Butterflies http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdEIWu4gT5g
