This_started_yesterday!

My_system_seems_to_be_working_fine,_but_when_I_write_any_mail_on_online_forums_like_here_(&_Ubuntu_forums)_ALL_the_spaces_between_words_get_replaced_with_asterisks_causing_anyone_trying_to_read_them_to_have_a_brain_aneurysm._See_below.
Using_underscore_is_the_only_way_of_making_this_legible.

I_was_able_to_write_in_OOo_&_cut_&_paste_across_yesterday,_but_today_that_option_seems_to_have_disappeared_and_even_there_the_spaces_have_disappeared.

This_problem_is_only_visible_when_I_do_a_preview,_ But_fixing_it_in_the_preview_doesn't_help.

I'm_at_a_loss_to_know_where_to_begin._I*was*playing*around*with*languages*on*my*system*the*other*day *due*to*the*mess*that*is*I_think)*the*setup*for*autocorrect*in*Writer.*

Very odd! Feel sorry for you Have you tried fiddling with your keyboard's preferences? The old faithful reboot? Unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in?

what happens if you open gedit, write a bit, save, close, then re-open?
