What's a "good" hot water bottle? One that doesn't wet the bed? :)

I don't know if you will stick your nose up at it, but I've got a couple from penney's with cute furry covers on that work just fine. Around 3 euro each if I remember correctly, and they've never leaked.

I saw some in the €2 shop on Tuesday

Makes you wonder, if they sell them at €2 (inclusive of 21.5% vat - 43c), how much is the chinese manufacturer getting from that €1.57..and the store's profit?

The vat is actually ~35c </pedant>

If you look at a site like DealExtreme you'll see just how cheaply things can me made sold and shipped.

Thanks Sean_K, how does one calculate VAT on a product?

The €2 is 121% so divide it by 121 and multiply it then by 100.

Let's get it back on track

We were discussing the possible location of hot water bottles in galway and the economic value added tax of same hot water bottle in a galway retail shop.
So it always was on track

Just to up the pedant stakes here, the VAT rate is currently 21.5%:pac:

As for the hot water bottles, do not get them in either Pennys or the 2euro shop, as they burst easily. Boots is the best place for them, but you should pay €5 euro plus for a quality one. They last years, the ones from Boots.
