Electric Assist bikes are they any good?

I am thinking of buying an electric assist bike but I am just wondering what are peoples' experiences of them. I currently only go about 5 miles but as there is no shower facilities I was thinking about the electric assist bikes.

The main issues I have are:

    1) Are they that much easier to cycle when it comes to exertion?
    2) How do they hold up after prolonged use? Mostly recharging the battery is my concert but in general as well.
    3) The price is a bit hefty but they vary a lot so is there really that much difference?

Do e-bikes need a motorbike licence in Ireland?

    Hello,

Have a look at GoCycle (http://www.gocycle.com/). It's the first injection moulded magnesium bike on the road (apparently that's good).

it was a fad for push bike frames a long time ago and very few magnesium bicycles or motor bikes or scooters made nowadays
