    Hi Guys,
    I'm looking for some advice. I've just started my own business and I'm looking for new customers. I have been asked to put together a proposal for a local authority (city council), however, being a new business I have never put together a business proposal before. Can anybody give me any advice?

    Well given that he has already started the business surely he will disclose what it is. The more info the better.
    What are you selling? What is the cost price and selling price? What are the advantages of using the product/service etc.

    I did about 20 proposal for local authorities last year, in both the UK and Ireland. Its hard to be specific on what to write as it depends but in geberal it should have;

    Summary page
    An introduction/background with your understand of their issues
    Description of what you are going to solve
    Detailed description of your product or service
    plan of how you deliver
    commercial section costs etc
    other background info

    The above would generally take anywhere beteen 10 and 200 pages dependeing on the product or service
