Too close to Berlin unfortunately, but great to have another marathon in Ireland (even if you have to dress up as a cow). :)

    Dublin
    Cork
    Mooathon (Letterkenny)
    Connemara
    Longford
    Clare-Burren Marathon

    Belfast
    Newry

Newry is handy as you can do the weekly shopping after the race. :)

Pfffft...you have a whole month to recover. Seriously considering both...although given I'm doing the Connemara Ultra and Edinburgh I dunno if I can handle two marathons within four weeks with only 15 or so weeks between Edinburgh and the moo.

Not sure if a month is enough to recover...
I'm taking part in the connemarathon also... I'm looking at as many marathons as i can... basicly I hope to do the next marathon and the next one.. as long as I'm injury free.. But I don't want to miss the DM

I was raised in Letterkenny and still have family there, the Mooathon has always appealed but I've never got round to it. But if they do a full I'll have too...

Wouldn't be a great course for setting times on though would it?

I think there's a new marathon somewhere in Kerry this year. Anyone hear about it?

There's the Ballyhoura mountain marathon which was run last year, but that was in Limerick, and there's no indication that they'll be organizing it for this year, and it seemed more geared towards walkers/hikers.

Are you sure it's a marathon, and not a half/10k (which seem to be popping up everywhere these days). Achill Half marathon has also just opened its registration.

I considered the half last year as warm-up for Dublin, but was up in Donegal a few weeks before the race and drove the course. I immediately decided not to do it as it's practically vertical in parts - to the extent that I'd struggle to train on it, let alone race on it as a tune-up race!

I think the half course is fairly hilly. The marathon course would most likely take in the half course or maybe two laps of it so you're probably right.

I heard last year that some people were planning to organise one in or near Killarney, but haven't heard anything since then.
