I'm looking to get accounts for a web company that is doing a similar service to mine to see what I'm against, how can I go about this?

If it were an irish company I would look it up on the CRO.ie and pay the fee that way, what are the other sites similar to that for the UK/US/EU etc?

    Thanks

You are assuming that your opposition is a company.

Anybody can register a domain name and set up a web site so if it is a sole trader or partnership you will not have access to any financial info.

If there is a registered company involved it should say so on their website, even in the small print at the foot of the page.(or perhaps in the disclaimer)

If not you can see who is the registered owner of the domain name by doing a 'whois' search and if it is a company then you can do a search on the company in CRO and download accounts if you want and pay the small fee.

There are loads of companies that can supply their (assuming they are a limited company) records from the companies office. It will tell you something - but at times very little. Cost you about €7/10 for the last years statement - and its all very vague.
