Getting to Dublin Airport from Swords Road

I know it may seem like the airport is only over the road but from what I hear I can't walk on a motorway so I'll have to get some form of transport.

So, if I stand out on the Swords road, I'll be by the Collins' Ave Junction, shoudl something come along and a pick me up? I know Dublin Bus has a few services, but do I really have to go into the city and then back out again?
I'm trying to be at the airport for 8am Friday morning. Not the best time for the motorway I believe.

Also, could I just hail a cab from Swords road if a bus doesn't come along? Or do I have to ring someone.

    Thanks people!

From Collins Avenue, go to the Swords road junction, turn left and go to the bus stop opposite the chapel. Get the 16a, 41, 41a or 41c (not 41c) from that side of the road and they'll drop you right into the airport. I think the cash fare is €1.70 but I'm not absolutely sure. It should take 15 minutes to get into the airport. Those buses are fairly regular and quite reliable so you should have no problems. They take about 15 minutes to get from their start point to Collins Avenue.

When you get to the airport, the buses will turn right away from the terminal building and drop you the other side of the car park. Cross the road (to your left), go straight through the car park building and you'll come out in front of the terminal building.

Edit: you can legally walk to the airport, just keep going up the Swords road, past Omni shopping centre and keep going straight. The motorway is just an alternative route. It'll take a while though, bus is a better option :)

There are roadworks at the moment on the old swords road so leave a few minutes more for the trip.
