Million Meter Swimathon in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Ireland, on this Saturday 31st Jan
A good friend of mine has a little boy with severe Muscular Dystrophy. Muscular dystrophy is the collective name for a range of neuromuscular conditions, which are characterized by the progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles. There is no cure for muscular dystrophy but there have been huge advances in increasing the quality of life for people with the condition and scientists around the world are working hard to develop new treatments.
As ye may know Im a keen swimmer, and the local swimming clubs in Limerick are doing a Million Meter Swimathon in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Ireland, on this Saturday 31st Jan, in UL Pool.
I will be taking part, along with my own children, and I hope to swim 4000m+, in one hour, to help us get to the million metres and to help raise funds for this charity.
If anybody would like to contribute anything at all please visit their website http://www.mdi.ie/
    thanks!
