Considering London, what happens JB if it doesn't work out?

    Hi all,

I studied engineering in college and was laid off last September. Since then I have been on jobseekers benefit.
I have been applying for jobs like crazy and even calling into companies but to no avail. I'm at my wits end and considering going to London for a month to see can I get work there. I can stay with a relation there and live off my dwindling savings.

If I have no luck in London how easy is it to go back on Jobseekers benefit as I have not much savings left and would need it if I come home? I have been ringing my local SW office but they never answer and I can't find any information on this!

    Thanks

We are all in the same boat mate. Try and keep positive. Somebody told me that for every job in the recruitment agency they have there are approx 2000people on average going for it. I don't know if that is right. I don't think London is much better. I could go to my aunt's but I think it is the same there. Give it a try and certainly look at the Evening Standard before u go! Great paper for jobs in London. You can still sign on once a month regarding your benefits. So as far as I know you can try out London and come over and sign for benefits here. Is that right?

I have to pick up my dole every week so I wouldn't be able to get in while I'm in London.
