    Hey all,

Heading over to view/hopefully buy a car in the UK on saturday, and I want to be doing the deal in cash to get the best price.

Where would be the best place do you think to get cash...ill be needing about 1500 quid in sterling....
I know bank's currencies exchange fees vary a bit, but thats about as much as I know...

any help will be much appreciated :)

    Thanks!

    credit union's are good.

Mind you, the fees on 1500 won't be big, either way, so convenience might be more important.

Oh, and you'd better call them, first - currently a lot of banks are running out of Sterling !

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Check with your own bank, it may be handier to get the money out when in the UK from an ATM, if your limit allows it. Make sure the ATM does not charge extra and you will get a very good exchange rate, and not have £1500 in your pocket for too long

As above the best and cheapest place to get Sterling is in the UK. If your ATM limit is too low see if your Credit card allows you to obtain cash over the counter at a bank, many do. Then you can lodge Euros to your card & withdraw when you're over.
