Warning - This is a rant

What is it with people who live in this country (local and foreign) that you cant frigging learn the phonetic alphabet to spell stuff, when there are obviously more and more different accents circling the place

Anyone who doesnt know what i'm talking about should hang their head in shame

I ordered a takeaway the other day from an Italian Restaurant, and the woman asks me to spell my address. So, realising she has little English, i proceed to go ahead...

    "Delta, Alpha...".

    She interrupts

    "what?".

I repeat and she hands the phone to a chef who understands immediately

Yes its just a minor thing, but fks sake some people are moronic and backward. And no im not perfect either.

    The food was delish mind...:pac:

I don't blame her, thats a poncey thing to do. Why not just spell it and if she asks you to clarify then say w for wankhead.

It can be frightening, you ask somebody to spell their address and suddenly a ****ing plane lands on your Take Away.

Just to add the americans have their own version of the phonetic alphabet so it isn't really universal

I know this phonetic alphabet: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipa

It's never helped with ordering takeaways.

Seriously OP, you sound like a right d*ckhead.

Just spell it out like any normal person does...

"M for monkey, O for orange, U for umbrella, N for Nigel, T for tiger, A for alphabet, I for Intergalactic, N for Nepotism..........."
