    Do Starbucks advertise?

I've never seen or heard one.....

The Likes of Coca Cola, McDonalds etc. are among the biggest and most well known brands in the world, and they advertise constantly.

    Why not Starbucks?

They don't need to. They have a near monoploy on the niche market they are part of

Everytime you see a celebrity, they have a cup in their hand. They don't really need to, I suppose. unless they pay Britney et al to be pictured in public with the cup.

Maybe they are happy with the level of brand awareness they create by
over saturating a market through opening numerous shops with overlapping
catchment areas and driving out real coffee shops.

When it comes to coffee and Starbucks, ignorance is bliss.

    Why not Starbucks?

Probably due to owning the Irish market?

They advertise all over the shop in the USA and France.

If you doubt advertising works, view this thread :p

I hate Starbucks. I cannot for the life of me order I just stand there, panick and walk away.

I do however have a hilarious starbucks joke.

    *AHEM*

A guy walks into a Starbucks and orders a cup of coffee. The person at the counter asks him "Would you like room for cream?" He replies "What do you think I am, a pessimist?"

Why would you need to? People are addicted to it, just like tobacco. No need to advertise, you are guaranteed business.

....until the recession kicks in and the little luxaries have to be cut back on.

Have never spent a cent in there. I don't drink coffee and Irefuse to pay 3€ for a teabag.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I find it funny how some people form an opinion of a company after watching an episode of Southpark.

They probably spend some money on advertising it in films. Most films you see someone in a coffee shop or holding a coffee it nearly always has the starbucks brand on it. Suppose it is a kind of discreet advertising.

I don't drink take-away coffees much anymore (since realising, over a year ago, that I was taking in 800 calories a day in creamy coffee hybrids  ) but I do like Starbucks' products- both drinks and food.

I'd much prefer go to Starbucks where the staff are friendly than queue in a smelly, grotty O'Brien's where Jacinta behind the counter won't give me my chai latte unless I give in and ask for it in her accent ("and a tae latty thar please").

It seems your observations are bang on:

    The best Anti-Starbucks ad I've seen was on a sign outside another coffee place around the corner from me. It was put up shortly after Starbuck's opened up close by. It simply read;
"DON'T GET STAR*UCKED. GET YOUR COFFEE HERE!"

It didn't stay up for very long unfortunately.
