    Hi

I'll hopefully be sitting my final options in the next sitting. I've decided on P6 Advanced Tax already but I'm also trying to choose between P5 - Advanced Performance Management or P7 - Advanced Audit. Anyone have advice on which is the better/easiest option?

I also usually choose colleges by recommendations about the lecturers for each subject. However I don't know anyone who's taken the advanced tax option so I've no knowledge on which college in Dublin is best for the subject- DBS, BPP etc. I went to DBS for the earlier tax paper but Julie Hawkins doesn't teach the advanced one.

Anyone who has taken P6 have any advice?

    Thanks a mil

    hi

i did performance management as one of my choices. (i'll be tackling P6 next).

I found it ok. Alot of calculations but if you get the hang of the questions early on you wont have any bother. Unfortunately like everything else, its all about practice.

I must point out, i did it before the syllabus changed there last year but I presume it's basically the same stuff.

    Hey,

I sat and passed P6 18 months ago. I attended BPP and was lectured by Mel Kilkenny.

He is a superb lecturer and is very approachable with any questions or queries you may have. He writes his own text for the exams which is very easy to understand and user friendly.

He lectures in UCL and also lectures for the revunue.

I have heard that he will be lecturing the subject in Independent college on Dawson St this semister.

    How ya doing,

    quick question re P6.
I got an examption from the 2nd level Tax from my degree. I haven't touched tax for a few years. Is it passable in my situation? How did you find it?
Should I do an 'intro to tax' course first or something?

I have heard Mel Kilkenny is very good so that's my light at the end of the tunnel...

    Thanks

Well I was in a similar position to you, I received an exemption from the first tax paper so I had not looked at tax in a few years. It definitely is passable.

Basically I got the first tax syllabus off a co worker and glanced/read through the text, this helped me greatly get back up to speed.

I found it quite intersting and easy enough to get back into the subject, as previously mentioned Mel is a fantastic lecturer. He provides weekly assignments which I found quite useful. These were not mandatory but I would recommend doing them. Results and feedback were provided the following week.

I don't know if you should do the intro tax level, it would depend on how you grasped the basic tax previously.

    Thanks for the info guys.

I had heard that the BPP lecturer was moving to Independent Colleges so I think i'll go there, Mel Kilkenny sounds good. Just have to hope I passed the Dec exams first!

Santino, where did you go for performance management?
