I just received this 5.1 surround speaker package, about €225 delivered to my door this morning. Great service, I only put the order in on Friday night. I'd have had them yesterday if I made the order earlier on Friday.

    Got them from Tekshop247 - http://www.tekshop247.com/jaa102hcs5bk-jamo-jaa102hcs5bk-black-speaker-system-black-bezel-p-16303.html

These speakers have won numerous awards, 5-star rating on What-HiFi, and best of all, local retailers (such as Peats) want €430 for them

    Bargain.

    Cheers dude, nice timing!

I ordered a Denon 1909 from Richer Sounds yesterday so these should go nicely with it!

Edit: €400 in Harvey Norman in Blanch. Ouch!

    Same here :pac:
I'm also waiting on an AVR from RS.

I found it tricky to find online retailers who deliver these to here, but these guys will do, no problem. £20 delivery to Ireland.

I'd wholeheartedly back up this thread - excellent speakers and excellent retailer, I bought the same kit from them about half a year ago - think I previously posted this deal on a recent Onkyo amp bargain thread.

Also worth mentioning that the Sona HC-S2 universal stands at £17.99/pair on Play.com are the business if you don't intend wall mounting.

Does that £17.99 price for those speaker stands include free delivery to Ireland or do play.com charge delivery for these do you know?

Play.com won't ship them to Ireland..

Great little speakers. The are very small (less than 4"x4"x4" for the four main ones and centre one is about 4"x4"x8"). They all come with discreet brackets (removable) and the subwoofer (large) has a powerful 200W amp.

The best of Danish design. You wont regret buing these.

    No problem ;)

I got a chance to have a right look at them last night. They are fantastic. Surprisingly heavy, and a quality looking piano-black finish. If they sound half as good as they look I'll be blowing my neighbour's eardrums out!

Just be aware they don't come with any speaker cable, the only thing they come with with is a cable to connect your amp to the sub, and a power lead for the sub.

The speakers also have wall-brackets attached if you want to go down that route.

Ordered some from a different reatiler - they arrived yesterday. Went for the silver finish, they look great and have just tried hooking up two fronts so far with my Onkyo 606.

@JoeA3 - do you know what the 'speaker level in' inputs are for on the SUB? If pairing with an AV receiver I believe I only need to use phono cable to connect SUB Out on AV receiver with Left In on SUB. I was just curious as to what these other inputs were for on the SUB..

Yeah, I was surprised to see all those inputs and knobs and switches on the back of the Sub myself. I didn't expect that... The sub on my old Sony all-in-one was just a wooden box with no switches!

Anyhow, as far as I know, the phono cable supplied is all you need to connect it to the amp. I don't think it matters whether its left or right you use. The instructions that come with it are not the best it has to be said.

What those speaker-level inputs are for, I'm not sure, but I don't think you need them. My amp isn't due to arrive till tomorrow or early next week, so I've obviously not tried them out myself yet.

There's a good thread on avforums which should help answer lots of questions too - http://www.avforums.com/forums/speakers/589475-jamo-a102-hcs-5-owner-reviews-please.html

As a matter of interest, what retailer did you get yours from?

If you don't already have a receiver. Would it be better going for a package like this:
    http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/595188/art/philips/hts335w-home-cinema-syste.html

Would the quality be very different?
I'm not very informed when it comes to speakers...
I quiet like the idea of wireless rear speakers. I don't need the DVD player but I could live with an extra one.

Because that is an all-in-one-box solution... so you've got your DVD player and amplifier built into one box. If you already have a DVD player, then this is a little redundant. Obviously the all-in-one can never be as powerful or flexible as a separates system. With separates, you can upgrade and change individual components relatively easily. E.g. replace a DVD player with a blueray player, and continue to use the same amp... or upgrade the front speakers / sub for example.

If you ever get sick of the all-in-one, the whole lot goes in the bin... the individual bits generally aren't reusable on another system.

I'm fairly new to this separates game too, having had an all-in-one for years, and it's a different ball game entirely, including cost!!

thanks for the answers above Joe. I ordered mine from http://www.av-sales.co.uk (not advertised on their website but I just asked if they could source the Jamo A102 HC5 package). I haggled them down to £220 (incl. VAT & delivery) which is more than the TekShop price - wish I had seen this before ordering, but not a huge difference in price.

Going to try hook up the whole system tonight...

Yeah, but only marginally higher... I think mine was £215 all in, which translated to about €225 on my C/card!

I see that ebuyer.com have them for £199 plus £13 delivery. Only thing to look out for is they only accept UK credit cards and paypal address must be verified, but there is still Google Checkout available without those hassles.

Sorry wasn't aware of that, I get most of my gear delivered to NI.

Try standanddeliver.com - £19 a pair for the same stands with £20 delivery to Ireland. Not as cheap as play.com but you'd have 4 decent stands for £60, I doubt that you'd source much better than that locally.

Very good deal.. have become a big fan of eBuyer since they started accepting Google Checkout - makes it a breeze for Irish customers to order.
