I have two and I am quite satisfied.

When on vacation in Scotland I use one with a Sky box to transmit radio stations from the living room to the bedroom.

Normally I use them as simple wireless loudspeakers over a distance of about 15 m.

They are not sold anymore, but you can usually find them on EBay.

Cheers for that everyone, now if I buy and out of contract Sky-box do I need a phone line? I presume not.

You sure don't. Even if you have a non-multiroom contract, you can pay 40 euro to drop the phoneline stipulation.

They are second hand. They haven't been sold new since 2007.

Hi guys, for those of you that have one of these , Just a few questions. What is the sound like out of them and also have they got stereo sound or just mono and have they got a headphone socket. Thanks and sorry about hijacking the thread.

I'd go for a wireless internet radio over this. If you haven't got internet though, it could be handy.

Although, the sound quality from satellite radio is tops, it has to be said.

I have internet radio but bbc insist on blocking IPs for soccer/motoracing etc.

The sound isn't bad for such a small unit. I think that they are stereo, but they are so small that it doesn't much matter.

I use them independent of the Sky box as an inexpensive way of extending my SONOS (music and internet radio) to the kitchen.

i have my sky in the living room downstairs
can i use this in the room upstairs?
does it interfere with my wireless broadband and av senders which are 2.8ghz

i bought one on ebay about 3 months ago for about €60 all in. well worth it. have it set to an old sky box. excellent for bbc5 live especially (football). sound is very good. it has a headphone jack. batteries are rechargeable so it can be moved around easily. the only gripe i'd have is that it's fiddly to use the buttons, but i love it.

Digital Spy wasn't good enough, Mike? :P

Heh saw that thread eh? I'm just feeling out the options :)

Sky box plus Gnome = most effective solution (which to be fair was the conclusion of the digitalspy thread)

    Video senders work for audio.

Does your box have to be tuned to the radio channel you want to listening to?

Thought as much......but obviously one can change the channel on the gnome itself.

Sure, as well as get rds-like info. You can get audio from the tv channels too.
