Phone for Blueface

I've not really read up on this, so I'll just ask.

I'm trying to convince my mam to move to Blueface and eventually port her number from eircom. At the moment her cordless phone is not working so she'll need a phone (she can buy one from Eircom for €45) but the cheapest blueface one is over €100, which is alot to pay for something she's only trying out. Any other options for phones, is there any way to get a phone on trial off Blueface?

Also at the moment she uses the laptop wirelessly throughout the house, Linksys router is upstairs so the softphone trial on the laptop would feel a lag, even speedtests show jitter, but its fine while plugged in. This rules out softphones unless I move the router and recable.

    Any advice would be great

    Pog

Get an analogue telephone adapter, link sys do a nice one. You can pick them up for €30 on ebay, or sometimes on adverts.ie

Then just set up with a regular phone, its handy having the option of a second line in the house at times.... Once you have it set up, you can show your mam how good it is, in terms of call quality + price.

I top up my blue face account every 2 months or so with €20, its excellent...

PS don't pay eircom €45 for a cordless phone, lots of places are selling them for about €30... Even woodies/Atlantic had a Siemens for that price...

Get an old Cisco 7960 or 7912 or similar. they can be an absolute pig to install but once they`re set up u shouldnt have any problems with em
