1 there are pre marriage course either free or very small amount that run over 3 days, say 3 saturdays with a few hours each day or you can get a private course finished in 2 hours and pay around 120 for it.

2 The priest will ask for a letter from the parish priest at the place you consider your parish, if the priest does not know you they may ask you for one from each parish you have lived in since adulthood. You can just call the parishes request the letter and collect at your convenience.

3 The church should not cost anything, it is a place of worship for the parishioners and not a business.

4 People often give a 'donation' to the priest, a couple of hundred euro would suffice. It is your choice then to choose singers or organist etc, you can just have a stereo and leave the best man in charge as to when to press play.

5 You will most likely want to do some kind of church decoration, flowers and pew ends, these can be done cheaply by yourself or you can hire a florist.

    Anything else just ask.

    1. Our pre-marriage course run by Accord was €150 and lasted one Fri eve and a Sat.

    2. Some places may accept the letter from your parents, but as the above poster said, you'll probably have to get a letter of freedom from the PP. In my case, because my OH is C of I, he had to get a signed affidavit as well!

3&4 are the same thing. Add on musicians.

    5. Don't forget the civil registration fee of €150.

my church charges 60 for electricity and 60 for the man to oens the door and tells you where to stand, i dunno what he was for actually a donation to the church around a hundred and the priest gets paid separate.. a letter from your parents will not suffice
