hi there, looking for some advice please.

Sky box has packed it in (out of warranty). phoned up sky, did all the tests.was told i possibly need a new sky box and engineer call out would cost €100.

anyway i phoned up and threatened cancellation. As i have been a customer for may years paying about €80 a month they waived the fee. Only problem is they told me an engineer won't call till the 4th of feckin february!!

I wonder if i had been paying the fee would they sort me out quicker? I feel like they have put me on the long finger as they are waiving the fee. Any advice on how to get a more prompt response?

even if you paid the €100 you wouldnt get an engineer out sooner.. Due to the recent bad weather there is a lot of people getting their dishes re aligned and new installs to be put in.

forgive me thread hijacking, but I just have a quick question regarding the autonomy of the engineers.

I was wondering if the boxes, be they original/SKY+ or SKY+HD, are locked to sky, new/renewed subscriptions or would you be able to say, purchase a box from an engineer on a call out, from the back of the van, lol

or then again, would it depend on the engineer?
