Parking Fine

Well I thought it was ok ;),

But then I see that I got charged for allegedly parking on double yellow lines.
Now the problem is that it is dated for Friday the 16th, I didn't recieve it in the post until the following Friday (23rd) by which time 7 days have relapsed. I have 28 days in which to pay (doesn't state if it is working days, but I am guessing it isn't )

The thing is, is that I park on that particular st all the time for work, I can't remember exactly where I parked on that day, but I never park in a place where I think I will get fined.

Is there anyway I can ask exactly where I parked ( I didnt see a ticket on the window)preferably I can get a response before the time is up or is it a hopeless case?

There also happen to be faded double yellow lines parked on everyday on the street that lead me to believe they are redundant, is there any way of finding out?
