My youth in a picture! Wait! Where Judge Dredd? Just cos he never made it to the screen (back then) don't mean he was not the Guv'nor.

Is that TV only? A good few of those shows can thank Star Wars for their very existence.

I loved the Eagle. Best spaceship ever.

Battlestar Galactia was influenced by the Old Testament... not Star Wars... at least that's the excuse that worked for them in the court case.

Logans Run 1977 from film 1976, based on book 1967. Space 1999 1975/77, Wonder Woman 1974-1978 based on comic book. Dr who 1963, Planet of the Apes 1974 based on films, based on Monkey Planet 1963, etc!

Tis true that the likes of Spider Man (tv movies) and BSG wouldn't have got made in 1978 without Star Wars success.

Whats the spaceship with the ski-ramp landing gear from? UFO?

    FAIL!

At least one of those shows is from the 80's!
    greatest-american-hero.jpg
The greatest American Hero (Guy on the far right of the picture with the red suit and cape) ran in the US from 1981 to 1983.

Apart from that little fault, it's brilliant! So many shows I remember there :)

Buck Rogers on the left, one of the interceptors from UFO on the right, shown fairly regularly on ITV 3 OR 4

Does anyone remember an awesome show called the Fantastic Journey (not to be confused with the movie the Fantastic Voyage). Ran for 10 episodes in 1977. It used air on Fridays at 4pm after Chopper Squad :D

Yep, saw it in that slot in around 1979/1980 I think. RTE seemed to have 4.30-5.30 earmarked for Sci-fi as Space 1999 also aired then.

    Hahah...

Anyone remember "The powers of Matthew Star"
about some alien kid with powers...all I remember is this dissapearing trick he used do in a phonebooth :)

Other good ones were Man From Atlantis (used be on Sat. morning with Anything Goes, so probably strictly early 80's), Fantastic Journey (Friday afternoon, so much better than Mystery Island but only ran for 10 eps),Earth 1999,Lost in Space,Flash Gordon (why could they never land a rocketship..always crashed),Greatest American Hero,Battle of the Planets, Battlestar Galactica and of course the Gemini Man.
