While the name may not be familiar to most his work certainly will be. Manner's has been behind some of the greatest epiosdes of TV. He directed 53 episodes of the X-Files, a number of Supernatural episodes and directed episodes of dozens more series.

    RIP Kim.

He made some of the best X-Files episodes - 'Home' and 'Monday' to name just two! :(

Just to say it was nice to see him get noticed in TV - the fifth episode of "Breaking Bad"'s second season was dedicated to him and "Supernatural" dedicated its entire fourth season to Kim.

Oh my God. I didn't know until I saw this.

It's only recently I began to really appreciate how great a grasp he had of how television dramas work - as other have said, his work on The X-Files and Supernatural stand out the most. And of course, he also served as producer on both shows, meaning his imprint was felt on most episodes of the shows in some manner.

So many of the episodes he personally directed hit the right beats; it's a real shame that we won't get to see him helm a producton again.
