nice, poignant, slightly folky. I believe he's involved with Fleet Foxes.

he doesn't seem to coming to Ireland any time soon unfortunately.

He is the drummer for the Fleet Foxes, and has about 5 albums out over the last few years. His newest is the best album I've heard in '09 after Asobi Seksu's newest. Perfect wintertime folk.

lol we are only 27 days in :P

I have heard a lot of people plugging him and Fleet Foxes. The only thing i have ever seen of Fleet Foxes was on Jools Holland(i think) and it was a terrible performance. So that has kind of marred them and i havent gotten around to listening to their studio stuff yet. For some reason i kinda lumo Tillmans solo stuff like that as well.

Pshh at this amatuer. 09 albums have been magically appearing on my iPod for about 4 months now, already listened to about a 100... :p

His music sounds nothing like Fleet Foxes by the way. They make precious 70's acoustic pop with far too much reverb, he makes night time folk.

I was a little disappointed when I listened to fleet foxes, but mr tillman makes nice sounds. can you recommend a particular album? I'm thinking of getting Vacilando Territory Blues...

I have only heard three so far, but VTB sounded the best to me. However a big time Tillman fan told me it was weakest (but still very good) album so...

i saw him support damien jurado a couple of times
he writes good songs but his voice doesn't appeal to me that much and the songs aren't that varied
they're very sparse and dark, and usually that's what i want to hear but somehow he never grabbed me..
heard one off his new album though and it's the best i've heard by him to date so may be well worth checking out
