The Moat Club's next production is The Seagull by Anton Chekhov. Our director, Ger O'Shea, has created his own adaptation of the play and given it a modern setting as he feels the themes are so relevant to today - namely, the desire for fame at all costs. It runs from Tuesday 17th to Saturday 21st Feb 2009 in our own theatre, the Moat Theatre, Naas, Co Kildare. We're an amateur group of around 100 members. Our next production (after Seagull) will be The House of Barnada Alba (April) followed by revenge on the all-female cast in the form of Twelve Angry Men, which requires 13 males of the species (June). So come along if you can if you know the play and want to see a modern interpretation, or indeed if you'd just like to see good quality amateur drama.
