    Hello folks,
I'm new to the thread. I have a few stocks in providence, AIB and BoI( i only bought the latter two this morning). I have really enjoyed the posts here and have learned a lot. I have about €2k that i would like to invest long term and like the sounds of ETF's. I have a few questions to ask and I would appreciate any help anyone might be able to offer. I have an account with Davy's. I intend to hold on to all stocks long term i.e 15years+
    1- Can i trade ETF's with davys.
2- Would i be better off with share certs as oppossed to electronic holdings being as I will be holding long term.
3- If i stick with electronic shares how does my family recoup these in the event of a sudden death.
4- If i cannot trade ETFs with davy's is there anyone in Ireland who does trade them.
5- Now the million dollar question; any advice on a long term ETF or share to invest in? I like the look of oil tracking ETFs as I feel oil has only one direction to go from its current price. I will have an additional €2k-€3k per year to invest so I would like to diversify as much as possible. As I mentioned earlier this is long term and i fully understand the risks. Losing this money will not put us on the street, although I really would like to hold on to it if possible.
Thanks in advance for your help.
