Last weeks was less than stellar I put it down to the panel not being in good order (all familair returnees but maybe not the right mix). That or the French just aren't good source material :)

Didn't like last week's, too much french.

I think it has reached the point of "huuh, lets get this done"
same people, same jokes, people know what to expect when they sit down to watch

You will still get the odd really good show, but the auld die is cast!?

I remember an interview Sean Hughes did about Never mind the buzzcocks why he left and why he was kinda sorry he did it in the first place, saying it was just the same every week

Anyone else watch QiXL on Saturdays? It's like what the BBC does with Have I Got a Bit More News For You, adding another 10 minutes of material.

Never even heard of it. I'll have to check it out. Cheers :)

I found last Friday nights episode disappointing. Not particularly funny. I find Jo Brand to be a dreadful panelist, there is only so many smutty sex jokes, or "all men are baxtards" I can take. And she puts this smug head on her when she thinks she has said something funny.

I watched the XL version of the French episode.

Liked it a lot, though it's the first one I've managed to catch in a while (so the 'same old formula' hasn't really gotten old for me yet).

    Great show imo.

The French episode was very good, I thought. Better than the previous one (Johnny Vegas annoys me and Pam Ayres was a bit too serious)

this season has been good apart from pam ayres, she was awful tbh.

the french episode i thought was dire because i was writing up a document at the same time but i re-watched it and thought it was hilarious.

i'll get the XL version of it now?

does anyone know is there XL versions for the first few episodes of this season? i've only got them from 6x03 onwards.

pam ayers was great, although she went on a bit, that was partly what was great.

its repeated twice during the week !

I do like this show but (with the exception of Alan) I would like to see some different panel members.

And I think Jo Brand should be banned from all television programmes.

Phil Jupitus ruins it for me, all such programs would all be better for his loss - the charmless fcuk, when he or that goaty beardy tawt from Mock the week are panelist I find it hard to enjoy - waiting for them to say something and spoil all. Hugh Dennis was pretty good but then I am a fan of Outnumbered. QI is about the only time I find Jo Brand funny

Not liking Alan Davies is a problem on QI :D

Yeah I've seen her on other shows and she wasn't that good, but I think she is really funny on QI.
Worst thing about this season is that Bill Bailey isn't appearing on it. :(

This weeks episode should be good - Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr and Marcus Brigstocke.

+1 to all of the above......but i feel Jupitus thinks everything he says is funny..not so...he was the same on Buzzcocks.....he's trying too hard lately, maybe he feels threatened...

I cannot look at him in the same way ever since he bit a chunk out of a homeless mans ear some months back.eek.gif He tries to act all genial and likeable but knowing he had human flesh in his mouth kind of ruins it for me!biggrin.gif

IQ XL is on BBC 2 on Saturday at 10 pm-ish.

I thought it back on track, some good stuff esp the Lyrebird joke and the quip regarding Frys Moobs.

"Can you hold a pencil under?"

"I can get Colin Montgemory under"

Yeah this week was good, it is improving prehaps it was just the line up in the first few weeks.

Is it just me or does it seem to be a bit dumbed down this season since the move to BBC1 i.e. more banter/smutty comments, less Quite Interesting factoids!
