Looking to get some of those clamp sort of yokes that go on the end of cables to stop them splitting up.

I think someone posted a link before but I can't find the post...

I use 1.5sqmm crimp on lugs, (just because I have them available in the tool box). They are available in small quantities from Maplin or Peats in town, or in larger quantities from Radionics.

i dropped into cycleways a couple of weeks ago looking to buy a pack of cable ends. One of the guys servicing the bikes just gave me a few for free when I asked did they stock the packets of them. Twas pretty sound of him!

Asked in my LBS if they had any, and got a handful for free (well, about 10, but either way, sound of 'em!)

No wonder LBS's aren't making any money when they just give us things for free! :D

In fairness, I was buying a bunch of other stuff when I got them for free.

There are two sizes of crimp. Ideally the smaller one is for 1.25mm diameter shifter inner cable and the larger for 1.5mm brake cable inner. I have used the 1.5mm brake cable crimp on shifter cables when i was stuck, but not sure if the shifter crimps fit the brake cable inners. In any case the shopping links already posted seem to be 1.5mm which fit both. A few wraps of insulating tape also does the trick.
