    Hi all,

Just wondering could anyone give me general price guide for an architect. Got a quote of 1200 with sending in planning or 700 for just the drawings. Is that expensive or ok??

    Cheers

sounds good, mind you it also depends on what its for.. as you haven't said, 1200 for a house would be good

Maybe its mates rates or he's doing it as a nixer but if he's a full RIAI architect that a great price.

Will he be signing off on the build for that and providing inspections or is that just a planning application?

I'd guess its "Mates" rates, allowing €700 for basic single storey extension design / drawings; plus €500 for full survey and drawing up existing dwelling. Quite reasonable.

It wouldn't include Inspections or Certification - that a different job, unless the Architect is wearing a Straight-jacket and sketches will crayons.:D

I assume the OP knows the Architects work and reputation. If so its a very good quote. I doubt it can be beaten!

Anyone willing to work for that low a fee must be determined to spend very little time on the job.
I'd prefer to spend more and get aquality design.
