AVG 8.0 Issue

    Hey All,

I am not sure if I have an issue or not at the moment. The last couple of days my version of AVG (8.0.176) hasn't been able to update. I have tried to manually download the latest virus definitions etc, through the AVG website I had no luck there either. I keep getting a connection refused error.

Anyone else having similar problems at the moment?

just updated there with no problem, exact same version...presumably you aren't having any general internet connectivity problems? any other software that might be blocking it?
not to worry you, but it could be a sign that you have something that is preventing avg from updating...

Yeah I am worried there is something blocking it. Don't know what though. I think I will download the update manually tomorrow in work and install it and run a system scan. If that doesn't work I will try Comodo as suggested.

Comodo is only a firewall which allows and halts internet traffic, it has a built in anti virus tag but nothing to the effect of AVG which is an anti virus/ anti spyware program which maintains your computers safety.

Use this site for the following www.filehippo.com

Download ccleaner, once downloaded proceed to delete AVG under the tools sections in cleaner. Then go back to file hippo and download AVG again, also download comodo and spybot.

Once you have done this go to www.downloads.com and download Advanced System Care. This will also help maintain, clean and help your computer run to its full capacity.
