May be a stupid question, but why dont you see female jockey's at major horse racing events?

They would generally be lighter and shorter than your average male.

    Just curious.;)

lighter and shorter they may be but generally they are not as strong. There are some really good female jockeys who do take part in top class races. Hayley Turner on the flat and Nina Carberry over jumps. There are many more as well.

are they not as good though because they are not as strong? or do you think tactically they are not as good. Could this be because they don't get as many opportunities? I'm not saying one way or another just want to know your opinions.

To me the jockey doesnt have too much of a say on how the horse is rode unless your one of the top jockeys. Its down to the trainer whether you set the pace or hold up in the back or whatever.
But Amy Baker is a good jok in my opinion.
