eclipse pro query

I purchased an eclipse pro over the weekend (old board is still fine but sometimes I make rash decisions!)

Some of the wires sit a good distance from the board, while others are barely 1mm out. Also the segments the lower parts of each V seem to be curving in a lot before the end, anyone elses like this?

Will upload a pic showing the what seem to be excessive curves in the segments.

I think it's the best board around. The lower parts of each V seem to be curving on mine as well but I just presumed that was down to the staple free design especially around the 25 area as with other boards you get quite a few staples around that area.

The only bad thing about these Pro boards is the smell in the first few days but that eventually goes!

I have an Eclipse pro board and the V doesn't seem to curve at all:confused:

Maybe you got a dodgy board?

if you compare the bottom of the 6 segment and the 17 there is a difference in size..

Yeah that's definitely a dodgy board, it shouldn't curve like that at all.

I reckon do what matty said and try and get yourself a replacement board.

Got it in elverys, might try return it to them. It seems to be oldish stock they have, they could all be like that. There was a bad batch a while back I think. Will be hard explain to some non darter behind the counter!

If that fails will contact unicorn. Thanks all and glad it isnt my head gone soft from all the years of fun!

Mine is a bit like that, but it appeared to me that the lower numbers (8 across to 10) the Treble bottom wire was like 3mm out while all the tops ones were only around 1mm out. I just thought it was to help darts to lean down on them, might bring mine back now also.

Lets face it the staff in Elverys know shag all about boards and darts in general. It was probably left near the door with the box open so the elements might have gotten to it causing it to warp. Used to have an eclipse and never had a problem with it, replaced it with a blade 3 due to overuse and they were 25 quid in Argos's sale. No complaints from that one either.

I think the Eclipse pro is a good board but it looks terrible........the supposedly white segments are yellow and it just looks dull imo.

    Much prefer the Blade 3.

That picture of the Eclipse Pro MBC looks a bit differant to this one.
I also noticed DPA is on the one you have pictured and PDC is on this one.
The Eclipse Pro which I have has white segments not yellow!

The one I have has sort of yellow segments and not white ones. That said though I think it's a far better board than the Blade 3 because the wires are so much skinnier reducing the amount you hit the wire and reducing bounce outs. Also means the treble and double area's are bigger.

The only board I'm ever going to use from now on is the Eclipse Pro (not including training boards of course).

Yeah seems there was a dodgy batch that had the yellows segments..........we obviously got one of the dodgy ones in here in my job.

Both Eclipse Pro & Blade 3 are similar........but for some reason I always go for the blade 3.......not sure why :confused:just think it has a better look.

Other than the fact my segments are slightly yellow there is nothing wrong with the board. Don't really see the issue over the segment colour.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the board just the fact that the original eclipse pro should have white segments and not yellow........and this seems to be because there were a dodgy batch of boards made with yellow segments.

In the mean time and being impatient and realising saturdays dartorama arrives with due course I went back to elverys with it. The manageress claimed its the way they should be :D I politely pointed out it shouldnt be like that.

Another lad working there seemed to accept what I was saying and commented himself on some of the segments but unfortunatly had to still take my details and said they will call their faults department and ring me...

Gah. Least I still have my trusty old lidl board.
