I'm looking to buy a ford fiesta 03/04/05 ish as soon as I see something suitable.

Does anyone know what the difference in type is though? i.e there are fiesta LX, fiesta GHIA, fiesta Zetec, fiesta Steel

The Ghia looks kind of taller and shorter in length than the others but other than that I have no idea. Someone warned me off the Steels.

They are the same car, just different spec levels - LX being the lowest level, Ghia being the highest, Zetec in between.

I dont really know what that perspn was talking about when they warned you off- IIRC there is a decent bit of spec on a steel - Alloys, sunroof, Elec windows etc.

This looks like a nice little car. There are cheaper cars out there too, i just dont have the time to look!

The petrol 1.25 engine is prob the best in my opinion - we've had a few diesels on fleet, and they do get very rattley after a while.

All the same car apart from spec as said above. Maybe you were comparing 3 & 5 door cars?

Avoid the Finesse or LX models as these are the basic entry level models which are by definition poorly equipped.

Zetec is the sporty model of the range while Ghia is the top of the range model but rare in the Fiesta.

Zetec Steel was introduced in 2004 as a special edition but became a regular model. The Steel is probably the best value of the bunch with such things as cd player, sporty 16" alloy wheels, heated windscreen, sunroof and bluetooth in later models.
