Just wondering would it be tuning the guts out of the engine to remap this 1.8t? it will remap to approximately 210hp. Is the 180hp quattro engine just a tuned 1.8t 150 by the way?

The engine isn't quattro the car is,210bhp for the 1,8T is easily achievable and would make a new car of it,depending on the mileage/condition of the car you might get some clutch slippage afterwards, this is only usually the case if the clutch is on its last legs anyway, the remap accelerates (pardon the pun) the clutches demise.

Same engine different car but mine was mapped from 156 to 210 only problems were clutch (was fine if you were not doing quater mile sprints) and the traction (wont hit you as hard with the 4wheel drive).

Just think about upgrading your brakes before you upgrade the power. Would say that to any one in any car tbh.

Upgrade/mind the tyres too, brakes are little use if you're running on canvas or HENK chinese rubber.

A friend has had a 1.8t remapped from 150hp to 180hp in a Golf Gti for 40k miles. Your engine has been built with stronger internals and a different turbo to get it to 180hp stock so it should be easily able for 210hp. The 1.8T's in Audi S3's and TT's had 225hp.

You could also experience the same or slightly better economy.
