The Vintage Classic Rifle Association Committee would like to thank Mary, Jim, Johnpaul, Tony, Brian and all members of the Mid-Lands Range for their help and support in running the Vintage Classic shoot on the Sunday 25th, also for the soup and sandwiches they were much appreciated.

It was a great day and turnout was excellent, thanks to the members of the following clubs for attending: DURC, MNSCI, City of Dublin, Hill Top, DTSC, Castlemaine, LRRAI and everybody else that was there, thanks again for making a great day of it.

Competition type: Vintage Service Rifle - Benchrested - fired over 100 Yds.

    Results as Follows:

    Mick Gannon - First Place - 40.5

    Francis Lane - Second Place - 40.3

    Alan Kelly - Third Place - 40.1

Congratulations lads especially Mick Gannon, you done very well considering that is was the first time you got to shoot your Lee Enfield - Long Branch .303 Rifle.

We were lucky enough to have had the Smith Rubin K31 there, but unfortunately we did not have a enough time to bring the ammo in, we will have it for the next shoot.

The K31 raised a lot of interest as did the .22 Lee Enfield BSA conversion and the .22 Lee Enfield Australian training rifle, both of which were very accurate on the 50 yrd range.

If people out there have an interest in this type of shooting, which is great fun, please view the link below.

I was there yesterday and it was great to see the old guns (the hardware not the men) and talk to some of the competitors.

Saw a lovely gun converted to .22.
I might put my head up next time and ask for a go.;)

Clive you should have asked, there would have been no problem. I was amazed at the Lee Enfield training rifles, there grouping and scoring
    accuracy.

I would love to get the one of the .22 Lee Enfield no8 Training Rifle.

    Lads,
In case anyone is interested, them .22 Trainers are actually for sale. I put about 100 rounds through them on Sunday, beautiful to shoot and cheap to feed! If I had the moola I would buy myself...
