    lads, not to sound thick or anything, but when it comes to shotgun cartridges,whats the difference??

    a plastic wad is a cup that is between the powder and lead ,it protects the lead as it travels down the barrel .
    the manufacturers say it keeps the lead tighter for longer and you have less pellets leaving the shot string ,flyer's .

    fibre wads. are getting more popular most of the sporting grounds in the north are fibre only as there working country estates with animals grazing on them .
    with fibre wads using back bored guns the cheaper makes of shell at times they dont seal the chamber and you hear a pop sound .my kemen mk4. is back bored so i only use BnP in it .they reckon the lead will pattern closer that the same shell with a plastic wad , but i have seen little difference tbh
