Lol, at the end of the day 164k is 164k. I wouldn't pay much for it. Has it an NCT/Tax?

Audi's tend to keep their value and 164k is not much if the car has been looked after... I recon its worth about 2k. Compare the price on carzone.ie autotrader.ie and you should have an idea what it's worth.

Nothing is keeping it's value at present and only a mad man would pay €2k for an 11 year old A4 TDi with 164k miles on the clock imo. The engine might be sound at that mileage but other components that have not worn as well as the engine may need replacing.

I would not pay more than €1k for it assuming it has at least 12 months NCT left on it.

If i could pick one of them up for 1k with 12 month NCT and a southern reg i would by one tomorrow. Thy are worth far more than that...

Thanks guys i had looked at carzone alright and there are people looking for anything up to 4 k for similar. I couldn't believe that thats why i looked here for help.

Could you reccommend something reliable and reasonably nice. Was showing him volvo s40 and s60 last night he liked them.
Do you recon he could have a nice one for up to 5k thats and absolute max, cheaper would be great. Any car at all, he doesn't suffer from badge envy of any kind and would be happy in something HE knows is good.
