hi i did a search for this but did'nt really find an answer...

anyways...i had a lend of an akg414(uls)...i did a couple of vocal takes...and then had to give it it back..d'oh!.i need to get a condenser that will scrub up well for vocals for a pro quality recording(rock, indie kinda micheal stipe, brett anderson range)

    budget is 300 max

i have shortlisted these but im still not sure

    SE electronics 2200a
    rode nt3
    mxl v79 (green one)

any advice would be apreciated....but anything even close to the quality i heard with the 414 would be good enough for me...thanks....

    You'd nearly get 2 x 2200a for Euro 300 now!

The multipatterned SE 3300a is well worth a look. I find the figure 8 to be particularly useful.

I was going to mention this later but seeing as there's an sE Love Buzz going on ......

James Young, one of the owners of sE will be over on FEB 11th for an

    'sE Day' in X-Music.

He'll be around all day to answer anyone's questions and we'll do a few demos with the whole range.

The only 2 places to get sE in Dublin are X-Music and us, as we're the distributors.

You could pick up an AT 4040 on ebay for about the €300 mark iv heard good things about them looking to pick up a AT4050 myself but they cost a little more
