Got a technika lcd tv with built in freesat but it doesnt give any instructions in the manuall on how to tune in the freeesat channels. When we set up thee t.v. it scanned the frequencies automatically but all we got are the BBC channels. Does anyone know how to get the ITV channels etc?? If so please let me know.
    Thanks

Are you sure it is Freesat built in and not Freeview? If it is freeview then you may not be able to recieve the channels in your area and that is why they didnt automatically tune in-I live quite close to the border and still have a problem recieving Freeview.
Check it again to see if it is Freeview...

Just checked again..The t.v. is freeview. Does that mean i will need an extra card or something like a sub? and if so how do i go about getting one. i live near the border so signal is good.

No it is free, and if your UK channels are coming in ok with your aerial then you should be able to manually tune in your digital channels...

Just to be clear - Freeview is for the set of terrestrial channels in the UK - BBC, ITV, CH4 plus E4 More4 , Dave, music channels etc. Your Freeview tuner may not be able to pick up Irish digital terrestrial (DTT) channels unluss it's capable of decoding MPEG4.
Freesat is a satellite service for which you will need a satellite dish and compatible tuner in your Tv (or a suitable Freesat box).

Only three transmitters in NI are currently transmitting Freeview so it depends where your current signal is coming from. Limavady is out in your case, so that leaves possibly Brougher Mountain near Enniskillen, and Divis outside Belfast. Even then, you could have interference on the channels broadcasting the Freeview signals.

    Channels and information for:

    Brougher mountain
    Divis

You might get more help on the terrestrial forum.

yes that is correct-Enniskillen works fine where I live with a good aerial, but Divis will only bring in BBC channels....so I would recommend pointing your aerial at Brougher mountain Enniskillen for any chance of getting Freeview...think we better end this thread before mods ban us all for posting in the wrong place...lol:o
