** Going to view the hotel in few weeks, would love to have idea of how much its costing. where you able to get good discounts from them. You can mail me if you wish.

    Hi there,
Brooklodge is a great hotel, and everyone raves about the food. When you go down there you'll be shown about, and if you have the chance to see the room done up even better - it will give you the whole picture.
In terms of discounts who knows what 2010 will hold for any industry!!!
there is a church /chapel on site but there are also some great little quaint churches around the area.
    Good luck with the planning!

    Overpriced venue imho.

We were shown about by the GM and when we I queried their prices he said quiet curtly there would be a price increase for 2009 and again for 2010. They were trying to make out the date we were looking for was "high demand" but yet they backed down and kept offering concessions! Farcical stuff.

Its a nice place but a few things let it down, their take it or leave it attitude (sorry but those days are well and truly gone), the fact that they were tryin to make out that the building that houses the function room for weddings was "exclusive" for the day, eh no its not. Its also where they have their gym and swimming pool etc. so you have random hotel guests trodding in and out of the foyet area where you and your guests are eating and drinking, using toilets. Also, they *insisted* that you had to buy afters food for at least 50% of the sit down meal number as they didnt want people getting "messy" and wanted people to have more food in their stomach 3 hours after a large meal? That really did make me laugh. That was non-negotiable! How dare they! Couples spending thousands of their hard earned cash and they try and milk another 1,500e from people with some half baked story about people getting messy.

You get a good feeling from a place or you don't, personally this place did their best to send us into the arms of their competitors!

Thanks for your input. we're going to see it next week see what we think.
To be honest i do think its out of our price range.

Only starting to look so still not sure what we want . all very confusing.

Hi; my fiancee and I are (late as usual!) looking for a wedding venue in June and just came across Brook Lodge, which we kind of liked, but thought we'd struggle with availability. We were hoping for around the 21st of the month. When is your date? Also, would you have a ball-park costing for Brook Lodge? We have a reasonable budget, but as for most of us, things are tight. So sorry to be asking you these things after you've had to cancel your wedding...

Hey there - date is June 5th.
I don't have a clue ballpark figure of what you are looking at as this depends on the amount of people you have to the wedding, menu etc.
If you are interested - give them a shout and meet up with them, they'll show you around.
    Best of luck ; )
