Was it not all a dream in the end?

Was it not all a dream in the end?

Yeah I was thinking that but it seems a tad too simple (its Lost after all!)

Apparantly one of the main producer dudes was involved and said the games ending is a big clue as to what Lost is all about so I just don't think they'd sell out by just saying twas a dream

It maybe a clue, but it was said thats how the series wont end. Thought it was a great game overall, except for those darn connecting wires parts. Hated those.

I won't spoil anything - it will make more sense after you've watched the Season 5 opener tomorrow night.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but its worth repeating.
I don't know if the producer said anything about the game, but I do know that the game is non-canon. So I wouldn't read too much into it.

Can somebody tell me the big revelation at the end of this game and how it relates to first two episodes in season 5 (in spoiler bracket thingys!). I never read spoilers, but I'm technically disgarding this one, because I'm never gonna have time to play this game. I heard someone say the ending of the game makes a lot more sense having seen new season 5 but then I read all over the place when the game got out, that the ending had nothing to do with the show. Can someone elaborate please?

Oh and reviews for the game are sh1t so hopefully not missing game of the year or anything..? :)

Alright here's the ending to the game for anyone who has no intention of ever playing it.

Damon Lindelof came up with the idea for this. It does make a lot more sense in the context of season 5, but I don't think it will affect future viewing of the show.

If you haven't played the game yet or are planning to, DO NOT WATCH, MAJOR SPOILERS, you've been warned, etc.

Well the game is very short.
And the voice acting is crap! (locke sounds like a Native American or something )

    hmmm, hadn't seen this before.....
It's pretty obvious that the end to the game is taken from:
    Stephen Kings: Dark Tower series.

There's no way that they would put something into the game that gave away the ending of lost that obviously... but perhaps there is a clue there somewhere.

Thanks very much for that. Seriously, nice one.
just started the DT series. Which is why I try not to read anything on it.

But you did a great job on hiding a spoiler for it there. And before somebody says: it was in spoiler tags. I don't care, the fact is that this is a lost forum, Its not unreasonable to expect to not see DT.

seriously, edit that out completely. Its really bad form.

no, its to do with the noise you hear near the end of that clip. Have you been watching the new season?

yeah the time shifting noise. i wasnt listening properly the first time.

One gripe i have with the theory is that this game was made at the same time as season 3, with the anticipation to be released mid-late of the series.

It was in the recording of season 4 that the writers admitted that they had figured out the ending (the final 2 seasons).
As the game was made before this decision does that not mean it could have in fact nothing to do with the ending of lost?

They have been aware of alot of the general stoeyline of the show for some time.

But you are right, the computer game is non canon. It is based on lost, but it doesn't 100% portray the "truth"

I remember reading somewhere where they said that yes, the story characters and the dharma stations wheren't canon, but that the ending and its significance would hint at the main canon of the show. I mean even just looking back on it now it makes more sense than it did during season 4.

I think the point they are going for is that the island is something of a temporal anomaly, but had settled somewhat since the last incident. When Ben turned the wheel at the Orchid he knocked the Island out of sync again, I'm guessing they need to return the Island to its exact state it was in before Bens actions, there also seems to be some tie in to the consciousness of the individual (Desmonds experiences as well as the fact that babies can't be born on the island), so all consciousnesses must be returned to the island for it to sync again. I think Miles ability shows that regardless of whether you are clinically dead, your consciousness still remains.

As I recall there was supposed to be 2 things in the game that was supposed to be considered canon:

    1) An updated blast-door map that features the Hydra/Looking Glass/Orchid stations. See here.

    2) And The Incident Room. This was said to based on actual production sketches for what was supposed to be behind the concrete wall in The Swan but was never seen or built for budgetary reasons. This would match with things the writers have said in interviews and would suggest they feel the The Swan hatch is pretty much wrapped up.

thought it was a complete joke of a game to be honest. Doesnt live up to the series. It could have been done so much better although the storyline was alright i thought
