wax on paint

Have a slight problem with a second hand car I got from my parents. The garage that they used to bring it to, put a wax on it and it seems to have damaged the paint work. My brother says that it is because the wax didn't suit the metalic paint?

Anyway, anyone know of a way to fix/mask it so it doesnt look so bad?

    thanks

What colour is the car? If it's red it can be particularly hard to sort out. When you say damaged is it faded or what?

No it's light blue/grey... I'd say it looks like a scuffing. I'll try and take a pic tomorrow when it's brighter

Could they have used a buffer on the paint? If so they could have burned through the clearcoat.
Is the damage to the entire car or just spots?

Wax will bond to metallic paints no problem. Unless it wasn't wax they used.

Get some pics up if you can.

it's buffer trails and hologramming, and its not from wax, its from a heavy polish being used on a rotary polisher at high speed to do a "quick and nasty" job.

It'll need to be properly machine polished to take away those scuff looking marks.

then you can wax to add protection to your paint.

I'd say its particularly noticable in bright sunshine

it can be sorted, a couple of hundred quid for a days detailing.
