Hobbs, that is.

2005 you couldn't open a paper or flick on the telly and the guru was warning us all about expensive mortgages and the perils of shop-bought cappuccinos but now he seems to be keeping a very low profile. His website says he might have a new series of Show Me The Money at the end of 2009 "if time slots and budgets permit".

As far as I know, he writes in one of the daily papers and still has his magazine but I haven't seen him in anything high profile for ages (well, RTÉ high profile).

Not suggesting for a moment that he's failing to speak out about the economic downturn caused by our government just because he was appointed by the Minster for Enterprise and Employment to the interim board of the new statutory National Consumer Agency. :rolleyes:

Thank fcuk The Hobbmeister is off the airwaves. I don't mind the cork accent in general but there's something about his tone that makes me want to stick a screwdriver in my ears!

any one remember his major investment plan? the one that he wanted the average joe soap to invest in and in turn he would invest in commercial property all over europe and guarantee a return??

And where is he now? probably renting a caravan down in skibereen trying to work out how to pay all these investors back ..

i dont know if any one remembers or was even listening, but as much as Eddie Hobbs warned us about mortgages he also Told everyone to invest in the stock market as there was good money to make. This was when the ISEQ was 8000points. its now hovering around 2000. He encouraged ordinary joe soaps to put money into stocks as they where kinda a sure to make 10% a year. I havent a cent to invest but i wonder who actually did listen to him. i'd say they'd love to teach that little hobbit a thing or too. If he took his own advice he's broke!;)
