So did any boardsies find some art on the streets?
Dear help the poor NCAD students carrying art who put it down for a moment to rest...

    * I'm not a 'Free Art Friday' organiser, just posting out of curiosity

January is a depressing month, even more so when it’s at the beginning of a recession. This city and it’s people need something to smile about again and we need you to help make it happen.

Free Art Friday is a relatively new art movement that’s rapidly gaining in popularity around the World. Artists create a painting, sketch, sculpture or installation and leave it on the street. The piece can then be picked up by anyone and claim it as their own. Finders are encouraged to email the artist and tell them how and where they found it. We’re asking all painters, photographers, illustrators, sculptures, graffiti artists, taggers, cartoonists or any visual artist to contribute a small piece of work that will be hung/placed/or left on the streets of Dublin on Friday 23rd January for anyone to take away.

Beauty is subjective, maybe the scumbags are ardant fans of auto-destructive art similarily to Pete Townshend?

Hmm, I did see a skateboard on the street in Ballymun, near the old cop shop this morning on my way to work but I just thought some kid left it there so just walked on by. Actually some kid probably did just leave it there and it was all just a coincidence.
Friday's not a great day anyway, lots of places leave their rubbish outside on the streets to be picked up and looking at the art in the link you gave, well, it all looks like rubbish. Apart from the satchel, which looks like a bomb - wonder how that would go down in the tube stations in the UK

I found a really cool banksy tag.

It now hangs on my living room wall :)

For the student, do roadsigns and traffic cones count?

I seen some dog shít on the ground earlier. It was probably modern art.

Bit high-brow for modern art, is it not?

That's what I was thinking then I seen some vomit beside and assumed they were part of the same piece.

You need to publicise more. I am an NCAD student (albeit in hermetical 4th year) and I didn't hear about this. Incidentally, a classmate of mine was out on the streets this afternoon asking people to give him a push in his pram. Ya read right there!

It wasn't an art object that could be taken home, but it was something different and surprising.

BTW, NCAD students are not poor. I've been there for a while and for the most part they are at least as privileged as the other kinds of uni students.

I must photograph some of my dogs sh*t , because sometimes it actually looks like sh*t.
Or maybe I will bring it home and put it on my unmade bed.
