Sky Box Still Powering Off

    Folks,

I contacted this forum recently about my UK "Panasonic" box powering off after a few hours. I changed out the box for my ex Irish box (I had just upgraded to HD) which had been working fine. Put in my UK card and then this box started to power off as well!!!!!
One suggestion was to go to the help services section on the box but this section was not available (to switch off automatic power off).
I left it on overnight hoping for an update but this failed to resolve the problem. How do I do a forced update as this may resolve the issue?

    Thanks for any help.

    Disconnect mains from box.
While holding BackUp on the front of the box, return power. Continue to hold the Backup button until all the LEDs light up on the box. Then you can let go of Backup button.
If it's connected via Scart to the TV, it'll come up with an onscreen message about software download.

Procedure will take up to 15 minutes, after which the box will go into standby. Leave for about a minute before trying to start up again.

    Hello Modrover
If it just keeps going to standby during the night after been on same channal for 2 hours you should read this link. I have put in the solution near the end of the thread. The going into standby is a new feature from Sky to "reduce the carbon footprint" of digiboxs

    Hope this helps.
