thought 1) with the likelihood everyone is probably going to have to take a 10% paycut this year to reduce costs why is there no mention of people working 10% less hours due to not been paid for it, this would also reduce costs due to electricity/heating, etc. turned off?

thought 2) why do pubs not have sales?

Because then it wouldn't really be a paycut. Productivity would decrease in line with wages and the situation wouldn't change much.
thought 2) why do pubs not have sales?

    Ladies night: Drinks €2
Happy Hour: All drinks €3 etc.

    1) The whole point of a pay cut is to reduce the labour costs associated with the product. reducing the hours would not achieve this and the costs would be the same.

    2) Why have a sale when people buy it anyways. Plus alcohol prices in pubs are governed.

I would've thought that these were blatantly obvious things.

    EDIT:
    Damn you javaboy!!!

Asnwers to beoth questions: because those in power are greedy and lazy bastards.

Think your TDs and publicans are gonna take a pay cut...?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Not really a 'sale' though, as doesn't the price before the sale price have to be offered for at least 28 or 30 days before it's reduced?
    OP has a point!

They can f*ck off if they think I'm taking a pay cut. I'd sooner leave the country then do the (sh!tty) job I'm doing for less than I'm being paid now.

Here's a thought for the day...

    "Here is a shoe"

    Prove its existence...

I've been battling with this one for a while now, anyone got any ideas?

Prove that it doesnt exist........if you cant then you have proved that it does.

Failing that, just throw it at someone.

Do you think that thought itself can think...

So if you can't prove or disprove anything it isn't there to begin with...

Meh **** it, I'd rather just throw the shoe.

If "Happy Hour" were still legal, they'd now last 54 minutes.

A worthy question, no doubt, and one that is central to our appreciation of life.

No really I hate philosophy, it's a waste of human resources. I assume that was your point...
