Does anyone know if they still give out the clear plastic bags for liquids before going through security in Dublin Airport, or will I have to pick one up before going to the airport?
    Thanks.

Going OT but should DAA not be charging 22c for each bag?

Imagine the hassle of people waiting while the person in front fumbles around for change! There'd be bloody murder.

No, it's only shopping size and larger. The bags they give out are only 1 litre and not included in the environmental tax.

They definitely still have the bags at Dublin airport and for free. They charge £1 per plastic bag in some English airports, hopefully they don't start that here! I had one of those bags with me in one airport, either Germany or Spain can't remember which, and they still made me pay for a new one cause it didn't have the same seal as theirs duh! even safety is turning into a money making racket!

I came through security in Riga with a can of large deodorant in my bag that was way over the size allowed - I'd meant to leave it in the hotel but forgot. Security guy took it off me. Then gave it back to me, with a plastic bag, for which he charged me abuot 50 cents, and let it through.

When I travelled through Dusseldorf Weeze (Ryanair's Dusseldorf), earlier this month, I had to purchase my liquid bags from a special vending machine. €1 for a packet of two, if I remember right.

I think the restriction is due to be lifted soon.

My god! But without those restrictions, what will protect us from the dangers of Colgate, soft drinks, and all those other evil liquids?!! :D

I've gotten liquids, toothpaste etc.. through security in my bag in Dublin and other European airports. Enforcement seems very haphazard.
