    Hi All,

I have just gone through a quote generator for car insurance on insure.ie. It gave me about 5 different quotes, vaying from less than 500 to over 1100. I was just wondering why it dodnt actually tell me who this insurance with was- in terms of companies. I didnt go the whole way through to buying as I dont have a car yet! I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with insure.ie and if you would recommend it?

    Thanks:D

probably didn't tell you because if they did, you'd go straight to the company and they'd lose their cut.

I'm with insure.ie (RSA) and found them fine .... nothing to report at all either good or bad!

If you pick a quote and click "buy now" you can go as far as seeing who the insurer is before you have to put in any payment details but you have to put in your name and address and "car reg"!

Went through Insure.ie for the wife's renewal last week. You can click through for greater detail and you really should. The cheaper quotes were for minimal cover; an extra €20-€30 and Breakdown Assist, windscreen cover and driving other cars were included - well worth the extra.
I ended up ringing them (exact model wasn't on their online database) & got an even better deal (fully comp, all the bells & whistles) AND a 30% saving on her previous insurer.

I've used insure.ie for a while now and find them quite good.
They can get cheaper quotes than going direct to the insurers sometimes!

I am with insure.ie - 810 euros on irish provisional license - Honda Civic 1.5 LSi - age 32yrs and I am with them for second year. Do you think I can get better deal moving to FBD as my coverage is coming for renewal coming feb end? Thanks.

Best thing to do is just to shop around using the online systems mentioned above and if your getting a better quote somewhere else, then change. Simple as!:)

I've never found any of the on-line agents worth the hassle. Most of the sites are painful to use and more expensive that what you'll get by going over the phone. In the end it comes down to the ability to give a discount - you can haggle with the person on the phone (the AA do at least, I'd recommend them), haggling with the web site does not work as well.

They are cheap but have strict requirements, read the T&C if they fail you. It could be the age of the car etc. I think FBD has an 8 year limit.

Thumpette, I have known from few friends that insure.ie is definately good for first time drivers or provisional license holders. if you have NCB and if you are not first time driver you should get even cheaper quote then 500 definately. Thanks.
