My sister is renting her house.
    She has sky plus.
    I have normal sky.

My question is. can i take her sky plus box and she take my normal box ?

Will it work then in my house on my normal subscription.?

Will my viewing card work in her box....

I am rambling but you get the idea.

    Thanks in advance

Seriously, heed the advice, you won't get away with putting your card into your sister's box. No matter how active it is, you just won't get away with it.

    what will happen?

Maybe nothing initially, besides the guilt you will no doubt feel of doing something you know is wrong, but down the line it could lead to all sorts of trouble, your sister might be able to use her box again.

If you just swap boxes and cards i.e. you take her card and box and give her your card and box I see no problem in it working. If her subscription is still within it's first year it may need to be connected to a phone line every now and again.

The Sky box has no idea of it's location. Same thing as people bringing their box to a mobile home during the hols.

She will have to continue payimg for the Sky+ service from her address. You keep paying for the normal service from your address.

i will have to put more thought into it.

it possibly not worth it. i can cancel my account and give her the normal box. then she give me her box and i pay her for the subscription. then her tennent re activate my box?

just try swapping the boxes and see if it works. I dont think it will but Im only guessing.
I know someone on here asked last week could they use the sky+ box to record if they got rid of their subscription and tried taping the fta channells and someone said if couldnt.

I'm just learning about this whole subject....but does Sky Plus not need a double LNB on the dish and normal sky only needs a single LNB? This is possibly one for the technoMods...

if you swap cards, the sky+ card should work in the normal box, but the normal card won't work in the sky+ box - you'll get an error that says something like "This is not the right card for this box". That's my experience anyway - I have a regular box and a sky+ box.

you can swap them if you ring sky and get your card paired to her box.

(she must be out of contract though)
